If they can here is the road to six wins

SEC wins required: Missouri, Vanderbilt, and Tennessee. If the Gamecocks lose one of those, the Gamecocks have a chance here to pick off Kentucky or Auburn

None SEC wins: East Carolina, Eastern Illinois, Troy.

Would lead to a six win season and a bowl trip would get the Gamecocks program on the tracks and bust recruiting right off the bat.

And that's the season I'm hoping for. And maybe surprise one of the others.

Auburn is quickly turning into an early “circle” on our calendar.  Hell, I didn’t like them before, now it’s worse.

Should know after the 1st 2 games. We will need some new playmakers to emerge and some very smart coaching.

The soft front end is helpful if the dates hold up.

We could have won a couple more games last year by having better clock management and overall better coaching. I think 5-6 wins is not unreasonable, but should not be expected either.

The schedule certainly sets up well for a change.  I believe 6-6 is asking a lot right now though.  It seems that nearly every season we suffer a season ending injury to a key player in practice leading up to the season or in the first game or 2.  See Marshawn Lloyd and Jake Bentley as recent examples.

I honestly think 5 is the top of the scale for next year.  I hope I am wrong, but there is a lot of work to be done with this team.   I hope I am proven wrong.

I’m eager to see how much of a difference the new S&C coach makes with injuries. Dill man wreaked havoc on our team.

It’s certainly possible and would be a huge confirmation on the new staff if it happened ... because it won’t be easy. I think Kentucky will be more winnable than Mizzou with their new system and very good young QB.

Good insight. We always match up well with most teams on the 1-deep chart; it’s two or three down that we suffer the most, so injuries are HUGE for us.

This year we take down clempson as well.  OK, I can hope right?  Thankfully we have some non conference games to help with scheme, depth, etc.
