I am speaking in generalities and with garnet colored glasses, no doubt. But I do think the TYPE of recruits that select Carolina or Clemson are different in their demeanor.
Clemson recruits need to be stroked, and have to hear the words, "I love you" and promised to be treated "special" and even promised to start.
Carolina recruits seem to be tougher. The coaches shoot straight with them and don't hand out empty promises. They also know they have to work their butt off to EARN a place at the table. The work ethic, atmosphere, and toughness required to play an SEC schedule draws a different type of recruit.
