While Orangeburg (S.C.) 4 star defensive lineman Albert Huggins 6'3" 280lbs has not narrowed the list of schools he’s considering, one source believes it will ultimately come down to South Carolina, Clemson and Georgia. The 6-foot-3, 280 pounder attended Clemson’s camp in June and got to know their coaching staff better while on campus. The visit made a good impression on him and the Tigers are firmly in his lead group.
While he has met Gamecock defensive line coach Deke Adams, he hasn’t yet had an opportunity to spend an extensive amount of time with him. That is expected to change later this month when Huggins is expected to visit USC and will receive significant attention from the coaching staff.
I’m also told the relationship Huggins has with Bluffton (S.C.) five-star defensive end Shameik Blackshear is a factor in Huggins’ decision but that Blackshear isn’t the type of person to pressure someone into anything. He is more likely to encourage Huggins to join him in Columbia but knows Huggins has to ultimately make his own decision.
