Coach Beamer will have his eyes on social media over the weekend as three key prospects for his program make their commitment announcements. Two are set for 6:00 PM Friday and the third for 4:00 PM Saturday. Two are for the 2024 class and one is for the 2026 class.
Friday at 6:00 WR Jonathan Paylor will make his announcement from his high school over YouTube. Paylor narrowed his decision to South Carolina, NC State, and North Carolina. He said this week he made up his mind about four days after his official visit to USC in late June. That was his final visit with the Gamecocks. He did return to NC State last Friday and North Carolina last Saturday. Two of the three recruiting services are predicting NC State for Paylor. The third, Rivals, calls it 50-50 between the Gamecocks and the Wolfpack.
Also at 6:00 PM, 2026 QB Landon Duckworth of Jackson, AL will post his commitment decision on social media. Duckworth visited South Carolina last Friday for their cookout, and he also visited for the spring game. In June Duckworth made stops at TCU and Florida. South Carolina TCU, Vanderbilt, and UCF were his final four schools. All three networks have him pegged for the Gamecocks.
Saturday CB Jalewis Solomon will reveal his decision between the Gamecocks and Auburn. Florida State also was in the mix late in the process. Solomon took June official visits to South Carolina, Florida State, and Kentucky. He was back in South Carolina last Friday and then went to Auburn Saturday. 247Sports and On3 Sports are predicting the Gamecocks will get his pledge while Rivals says it will be Auburn.
