Coach Beamers presser, New OC, and more with Video

I feel better about the hire than I did a few days ago although I was never "on the ledge" over it. No one is risking more than Beamer on this hire so I'll assume he has done his homework.

If Beamer talked to the coaches he mentioned and if Alshon and Connor gave it an enthusiastic thumbs up then I'm good with the hire. It also appears from what is coming out that Satterfield was somewhat of an ass and aloof. We've all seen how one person can "poison" a team and affect the chemistry.

Also the way the Arkansas fans are reacting also lends credence to this hire. I'm thinking that just the fact that Loggains will be a "team player" instead of an irritant makes this a better situation.

I am good with it. I don't think Satt was ever really Beamer's guy, hence the 2 year contract. Also stepping in late in the season and telling Satt he needed to scale back the packages showed me they were not on the same page and that he is learning to be the head coach. I also think he is too professional to throw Satt under the bus before or after they parted ways. I think he knows enough about what he wants to get his guy and trust that he made a good choice. I now hope he will learn to ignore the social media and talking heads and just do his thing.

Part of me thinks he needed to defend the hire yesterday, but Dowell had it covered and maybe Shane should have toned it down some and just let Dowell handle it.

We have the fledgling P5 coaches in Shane and Clayton offset by the experience and calming influence of veterans in Pete and Dowell now. Pete and Dowell seem more like mentors rather than guys that would rather be in a head coaching gig right now. That seems like a good balance to me.

Shane needs to stay away from defending the hire going forward and let Dowell stabilize things with the recruits. Along those lines it might be a good thing if Dowell eventually had some part in the bowl game because it would speak volumes if we get the win, which I believe will happen. Shane doesn't want to overload him right now, but I think it would be no biggie to Dowell.

I hope Shane doesn't go down the road of letting social media trolls work him like Frank did at times. That's ego stuff. Just let it go and keep moving forward.

Agree. He seemed to address them and the talking heads during the season. I said before I don't know if he uses this stuff to get himself fired up and motivated, but there is a danger in dabbling in it too much. Frank was really bad with it as you stated an many times it was a bad look on him.

Steve is a legend.....Ron Morris is nowhere to be found.

How the HBC deals with a bad day at work.

Gotta love Coach Beamer telling the Debbie downers and doubters to STFU and then our new OC killing it at the press conference.

Morris is doing big things at The Mint Hill Times LOL
Podcasters and thread posters are now caught in the same Hume nature issue of I want to be right but I love the Gamecocks... they say things like I don't mean to be a Debbie downer but, I don't agree with the hire but I will live with it and will now have an agenda that is not conducive to celebrating Gamecock football while blaming it on thier 40 year Fandom or I'm just doing my job...

When the truth is most like Ron Morris just want in the club and have become just popular enough to believe thier own BS and will skew the numbers at the drop of a dime to say I told you so 😉 and create dissension instead of just being fans, reporting facts and constructive criticism...

I was glad Beamer shut up those big mouth reporters.
I really liked what Dowell said in the conf.
And even though he is not "Coaching" at the Gator Bowl, you see he is already talking with the players and probably building them up for the game. Beamer said the players really like the guy already. He has 16 years as an NFL coach. He can give the guys loads of advice on how to improve their game and their chances of going pro. It was really good to see him so close to Rattler. Sure hope he convinces him one more year here working with an ex-NFL QB coach, will be what he needs to really improve his NFL stock
