Coach Beamer's Sunday night teleconference injury report, quotes, and more
Oct. 02, 2022

On the injury front

Beamer said.
“We’re in decent shape Just got off the practice field, Rush practiced, Spaulding practiced, Huntley was out there. I feel like we’ll be in as good a shape as we have been since game 3 after we had those injuries in the Arkansas game. Really the only ones I would say would be questionable right now would be (Dylan) Wonnum and Trai Jones but we’re still optimistic they’ll be able to do something Saturday in Lexington.”

Other Quotes

Beamer on UK's linebackers, "they are as good as we'll face all year. They are instinctive, they're physical. They were a weapon for them last year and those two inside linebackers are where it starts."

Beamer on the rise of Kentucky under Stoops, "they've got a fantastic quarterback and elite receivers on the outside. They're a challenge because they don't beat themselves and they are physical."

Beamer says he doesn't have an update on OL coach Greg Adkins. Adkins missed the SC State game with what was described as, "minor health issues."

Beamer: "Got a head-start on Kentucky as coaches (after the Thursday game), the players had the weekend off. Everybody got back into the facility today."

Beamer says there was a lot to build on from the win over the Bulldogs. Rattler was named the "Offensive Player of the Game"

The Gamecocks and Wildcats are set to square off at 7:30 p.m. ET this Saturday in Lexington, Ky. with SEC Networking broadcasting the game.
