• Beamer:  "Looking back at yesterday, like I said, I'm really proud of the team and how they bounced back.  This team never flinches, it never waivers.  We can win a lot of football games doing that."
  
• Beamer:  "We gave up four explosive runs yesterday.  We've got to be better there from a defensive standpoint.  (Special teams) We left a lot of plays out there as well.  Some of the stuff in the punt pressure game, we've got to continue to advance that."
  
• Beamer:  "Offensively, we've got to finish drives.  There were six drives that we had a 1st and 10 in plus territory.  In those six possessions, we got nine points out of it.  We kicked three field goals.
  
• Beamer:  "There was a lot to like about the fourth quarter.  We preach dominating the fourth quarter and we did that."
  
• Beamer:  "We've got a big challenge this week, obviously, with Tennessee up in Knoxville.  Excited to get back to work."
  
• Beamer: Clayton White's approach to coaching defense at South Carolina. "We talked about the areas where we needed to improve (from 2020) that affected games. They certainly have confidence in Coach White & his staff.  Clayton's got a good way about himself in getting those guys ready to play.
  
• Beamer: The only new injury from yesterday is Ahmarean Brown.  He has a bit of a sprained wrist but was at practice on Sunday.  Otherwise, he feels good about his team's health.
  
• Beamer: Third-down defense will be critical against Tennessee, considering how many plays the Vols run on offense.  Opponents are converting 39% against the Gamecocks on 3rd down.  Troy was 8-of-15 in that category on Saturday.
