College football recruiters are making a bee line to Pendleton High School to check in on 4 star DL Michael Hill. 6'2" 315lbs Coach Paul Sutherland said Clemson's Brent Venables was in on Monday and a Florida recruiter visited Tuesday. USC's Shawn Ellliott was be in to see Hill on Thursday and Alabama's Chris Rumph will be in on Friday. Hill is still focused on the same eight schools according to Sutherland...in no order Clemson, USC, Georgia Tech, Tennessee, Alabama, Florida, Ohio State and Michigan. Hill has visited Clemson, USC, Georgia Tech and Tennessee and will visit the other four early in the summer. He will trim his list after those visits and make his decision before the season.

Hill lands another premium offer

DL Michael Hill of Pendleton landed an offer from LSU Friday according to his coach Paul Sutherland. Hill got the offer from Tigers' defensive coordinator John Chavis who was at school to watch spring practice. Earlier in the week recruiters from Georgia Tech and Ohio State were by the school. Tennessee is due to be at the school Monday. Ranking on Scout: No. 5 DT/No. 110 Overall

Recruiting Notes: Ohio State was at the practice when Scout was there and they are one of the schools still in the running for Hill. Alabama, Clemson, Florida, Georgia Tech, LSU, South Carolina, and Tennessee are the other schools in the mix at this time. Hill would like to commit during the summer.

Head Coach Paul Sutherland's Comments: "It is hard to believe Michael weighs 300 pounds, but he does. He carries his weight very well, he is very tough to block in the middle, and he is a great athlete. He is a great kid and he will good at whatever school he chooses to go to."

Scout's Thoughts: Hill is a very athletic defensive lineman and he has the ability to play inside or outside on the next level depending on what type of front he plays in. He gets off the ball well, he has a quick first step, and he gets in the backfield often. He is very strong in the lower-body, but can still add strength in the upper-body. He plays with good pad level for an interior defensive line and he re-directs well.
