5 star OL Damian Prince 6'7" 310lbs of Forestville, MD will see a steady stream of coaches this week as his recruiting heats up. Prince made his official visit to USC last weekend and right now has the Gamecocks, Maryland and Florida as his top three. He is scheduled to visit Florida on January 31st and has one more visit available. Wednesday Auburn coach Gus Malzahn is scheduled to visit. Florida is coming in Thursday and new Penn State coach James Franklin is set to see Prince on Friday. LSU coach Les Miles is also going to be in this week. And Prince can expect to see his Gamecock recruiter GA Mangus as well. He plans to make his announcement on Signing Day.

Well from what I am picking up is that Prince wants to stay close to home, In Maryland's favor...

Our coaches laid everything out for him during his visit. The staff was extremely honest with him, something that Prince appreciated a lot. However, from post-OV interviews I've read elsewhere, he appeared "turned off" by the fact that even if he didn't redshirt, he would not likely start over players that have been in the program for 4-5 years. As it has been well-documented, early playing time is extremely important to Prince.

Maryland will likely give him the best opportunity to start at some point during his freshman year. Not an indication that Carolina isn't much of a factor with Prince, but more an indication he may favor other schools that can offer him exactly what he is seeking. He did go on to say that the recruiting process has become more difficult/confusing because programs are coming out of the woodwork to make a last minute push as NSD draws near.
