Virginia remained at No. 1 in the Baseball America’s Top 25 for the third straight week following a series win at then-No. 4 Florida State. The Cavs took the rubber match Sunday behind Brandon Waddell and have won 10 straight ACC series going back to last season.

Oregon State moved to No. 2 following a sweep of Oregon in the Civil War. The three losses resulted in the Ducks falling from 19th out of the rankings.

Louisiana-Lafayette remained No. 3 after a 3-1 week. Cal Poly dropped to fourth after losing its first series of the year, while Florida jumped Florida State into fifth with a weekend sweep of Missouri.

Washington is seventh, followed by Louisiana State, South Carolina and Miami.

There was some movement in the back half of the rankings as Texas dropped nine spots to 19th after losing two of three at home against Oklahoma State, and Texas Tech (No. 21), Liberty (22), Central Florida (23) and Mercer (24) all entered the rankings for the first time this season.

This marks Liberty’s first-ever appearance in the BA Top 25, and Texas Tech’s first ranking since 2005. Mercer’s last Top 25 appearance was last year, and UCF’s came in 2012.

In addition to Oregon, Kentucky, Clemson, Arkansas and Mississippi State fell from the rankings.

The staff of Baseball America determines the Top 25 rankings. Records indicated are through games of April 27 and do not include ties.
