4 star Conway WR Bryan Edwards 6'3" 205lbs spent Sunday at Wake Forest for a junior day. It was his second junior day visit. He was at USC in late January. Edwards said he toured the campus and the football facilities. He was impressed by the academic side of the school and the fact classes at Wake are smaller. He also was excited about the future of the football program of second year coach Dave Clawson.
“They’ve got one of the better recruiting classes Wake Forest has ever hand,” said Edwards who spent a lot of time with recruiter Kevin Higgins, former head coach at The Citadel. “Coach Clawson has been successful. He’s a cool guy, a fun guy.”
Edwards has been favoring USC and he said that remains the case with Wake Forest, Duke and Florida also high up on his list. He’s been in touch with USC recruiter Steve Spurrier Jr. and plans to return for a visit for the spring game.
Edwards said he’s also heard from new Florida coach Jim McIlwain about coming in for a junior day there. He’s not hearing much from Clemson at this point.
Edwards wants to see what new offers he gets this spring before closing in on a decision which he plans to make around the start of fall practice. He also has offers from Virginia Tech, North Carolina, Cal and Kentucky.
Edwards does plan to graduate in December and enroll in college in January.
