Couple recruiting notes

USC offered DL Jamil Dukes (6-4 290) of Mooresville, NC earlier this week and he’s now considering the Gamecocks though he is committed to East Carolina. Dukes only played in six games this season due to a cyst on his hip that required medical attention. The injury cost him a spot in the Shrine Bowl. Dukes said he felt good about getting the USC offer. “I was surprised about the offer, it kind of shocked me, but at the same time I was kind of excited.” Dukes said the offer came from Will Muschamp and Shawn Elliott. Elliott visited him last year. Dukes will take an official visit to USC January 15th and he’s also planning to take one to Pittsburgh. He also plans to take one to East Carolina. Dukes does not claim a favorite. This season he was in on 50 tackles with 13 tackles for loss and 5 sacks.
USC offered DE Tyreic Martin of Valley, AL Thursday. He currently is committed to Missouri.
