I know we had some issues last year with QB protection and run blocking. Maybe we really needed 4 more. I really hope that hulk, Jazston Turnetine can make an impact right away. At 6'8" and 340# he should either become a wall are make some really big running lanes.

SO, maybe we do need more but I was wondering if having 23 was realistic? It seems like if we had 13 we could of had 10 more players in other skill positions. Maybe 18, 3 of each position. I just do not understand 23. Hope the O line can show us some real improvement next season.

I mean our D line only had 14. We lost 3 and we are getting 4 new ones so it will only have 15, maybe 16. Not 23

Cannot have enough big uglies on both sides. Big boys get tired faster. Also injuries etc. About right. What you all think?

Seems like lots of OL never do much in college so having large numbers seems typical.  Hard position to transition from HS to college IMO and many don't make the cut.  They may stay on the roster but are 3rd string.

I see about 7 guys from that list that won't ever factor into any PT here.
That might be a low number. In the SEC, if you are not 300+ you are too small. Kinda like our center those first couple games. He had a lot of heart, but the bigger DL just pushed him out of the way.The linemen are always the strongest guys on the team, but you need that weight to use as an anchor. Strength can only make up for so much. 2 of our new recruits are really small guys too. Hope they can add some pounds fast. I understand 3rd string and practice squad, but sometimes maybe those extra scholarships could be needed. Maybe I just underestimate the value of so many linemen. They do get tired and need breathers frequently.
