Day 4 of Muschamp Camp is underwayJune 07, 2016
The fourth session of the Will Muschamp Football Camp has begun and several prospects are on campus.
Three-star defensive tackle Tyrone Truesdell is up from Laney High School (Augusta, Ga.). Ranked as the No. 20 defensive tackle in 2017, Truesdell lists South Carolina on his offer sheet, which also includes Auburn, Florida, Clemson and Louisville.
Eli Adams, the offered 2018 linebacker from South Pointe High School in Rock Hill, S.C., is down with several teammates, including 2018 wide receiver/linebacker B.J. Davis, 2018 cornerback Jamari Currence and 2019 cornerback Scott Robinson.
Defensive line coach Lance Thompson kept a close eye on Truesdell. Carl Fowler, a 2017 defensive end from Northern High School in Durham, N.C., also received some attention from Thompson. His offers include Army, Columbia and Gardner-Webb.
Devin Darrington, a 2017 running back from John Carroll High School (Bel Air, Md.), has gotten plenty of love from the South Carolina coaches, including running backs coach Bobby Bentley. Vanderbilt, Indiana, Pitt, Rutgers and Syracuse have offered.
Darrington is an intriguing athlete. Measured at 5-foot-9, 198 pounds during The Opening in Washington D.C., he also ran a laser-timed 4.52 in the 40 and jumped 39 inches in the vertical.
His 116.67 SPARQ rating is in the 99th percentile of all athletes who tested at the Nike combine. At Pittsburgh’s camp earlier this week, his broad-jump was over 10 feet.
