4 star DB DJ Smith 6'0" 192lbs of Marietta, GA will announce for either USC or Tennessee tonight some time after 10:00 PM on Fox Sport South but he's known his decision for a little while his coach said Monday. "I think all the schools did a great job recruiting him but I think he connected with the defensive coaching staff and they sold him on how he would be utilized and the opportunity to come in and play," coach Rock Hidalgo said without revealing Smith's choice. And Smith has the talents to contribute from day one. "He's a very good cover corner with great hips," Hidalgo said. "He's physical enough to play safety and good enough to come down hill and tackle. I think he's got a chance to be an exceptional player. He's that type of kid. As a sophomore he was covering SEC and ACC guys. He's a kid that rises to the challenge. He's a real competitive kid and that will drive him to be successful." Despite his announcement tonight, Smith plans to take both official visits with USC this weekend and Tennessee the next.
