Israel Mukuamu
DB Israel Mukuamu of Bossier City, LA, a former Berkeley High standout, is set to name his college choice Monday morning at a gathering at Berkeley. Mukuamu is down to USC, Florida State, Oklahoma State and Indiana. He said Saturday afternoon he has made his decision. Friday Mukuamu was at USC for the last of the Will Muschamp summer camps and he also attended the Saturday Spurs Up cookout.
“It went great, felt great being there again,” Mukuamu said. “It was just like old times when I visited there. It felt really good to be back. Coach Muschamp told me that they need and want me. He said I am a priority to them and they are going to come after me hard.”
USC was the first major program to offer Mukuamu when he was at Berkeley. The Gamecocks lost contact with him for several months after he moved to Louisiana but picked things back up earlier in the summer and have been strong recruiters of him ever since.
Mukuamu has said all four schools have recruited him hard and he’s never publicly indicated a frontrunner.
“It was overall the best fit for me and feels like home,” he said of the school he has chosen.
His announcement time Monday morning is set for 11:00 AM.
