DB Javon Jackson 5'10" 179lbs of Tyrone, GA narrowed his list to USC and Duke Sunday and said he will have a decision
this week before Friday. Exactly when, he wasn’t sure. Jackson also had Louisville and Wake Forest on his short list. He visited USC and Duke on consecutive days earlier this month.
Jackson said he has no favorite between the Gamecocks and Blue Devils at this point. He knows there are notable differences between the programs and the schools, but he said he knows he can be happy at either one.
“I’m just thinking on which one felt more like home on the visits,” Jackson said. “Both conferences have good schools, and both conferences have people go to the NFL. Both teams are accustomed to winning and I like to win. Duke has the better academics but that doesn’t really matter. I just want to graduate from a good school and USC is also a good school.”
Jackson said he talked with his Gamecock recruiter Joe Robinson Saturday.
Jackson is not the only USC target set to announce this week. DL Nyles Pinckney of Whale Branch will announce his choice at 2:00 PM Friday at his school. He’s been considering USC, Clemson, Georgia and Georgia Tech but is expected to go with one of the in-state programs.
