DC Travaris Robinson has good news on defensive lineman Keir Thomas

Oct. 03, 2019

Good news for Gamecock defensive lineman Keir Thomas. The senior has missed the entire Gamecocks season to date after an ankle infection following surgery. Will Muschamp suggested he might redshirt, but his recent work has given some reason for optimism. (VIEW ARTICLE)

As good as he plays, he might come back for just 4 games and still end up going to the draft. Not saying first or 2nd round but he might go as high as 3rd. There is some need for DL right now.

Never heard of anyone dealing with an infection that wouldn't go away for a month after a surgery. Did the surgeon accidentally sew up a gauze pad in Keir's foot, or something?? Glad to see him getting healthy - getting a red-shirt year out of him would certainly help with DL depth, but not sure if the guy wants to stay another year in college. I guess it would give him a better chance at showing his talents to NFL scouts, though......

We need him back, but we need him healthy. I hope he is healthy enough to play, but if not then its ok.

Everyone doesn’t heal the same, and everyone doesn’t fight infection the same.

The biggest issue with him will be strength/conditioning, I’m sure they’ve had him working out, but the infection has likely had him limited in some ways.

Best case scenario for him if he wants a shot at the NFL is play some/all of our last four games then come back healthy next year.
