USC started recruiting DE [COLOR= rgb(178, 34, 34)]Jachai Polite [/COLOR](6-4 250) of Daytona Beach, FL in the spring and has continued to work him. That
effort has paid off in at least an official visit. Polite plans to set visits with the Gamecocks, Tennessee, Miami, Kentucky and Florida. Those are his top five schools and he doesn’t have a favorite.
“Coach Spurrier Jr. messages me and we talk very often,” Polite said of his contact from USC. “I feel strong with him. I have trust in him. I’m trying to get up there during the season for an official visit.” That would be his first ever visits to USC.
Polite can also play outside linebacker. He had 82 tackles and 13 sacks last season. The Gamecocks like him for that hybrid position between defensive end and outside linebacker.
‘They seem very interested,” he said. “I want to take my (official) visits and see what they (his final five) have to offer. They are all recruiting me very hard.”
He has taken unofficial visits to Miami and Florida. He also has offers from West Virginia, North Carolina and NC State.
