DE KingJoseph Edwards giving Gamecocks serious consideration

Edwards is also a tight end, but he said he talks mostly with Shane Beamer and Jimmy Lindsey at USC about playing defensive end.
“I’ve been talking to Coach Beamer a lot. We talk on a daily basis, so it’s been good,” Edwards said. “I’ve been talking to the defensive line coach as well. They just want me to get better and get healthy and come down and see them.”
Edwards missed part of this past season with a labrum injury, but he will be fine for the 2023 season. He was able to make it to USC this past season for the Texas A&M game, and he was impressed with what he saw behind the scenes.

Edwards also visited Clemson for a game last season, and he’s had some contact with the Tigers, but he’s not been offered and doesn’t consider the Tigers a factor.
His top 15 list is made up of USC, Alabama, Georgia, NC State, Southern Cal, Ohio State, Florida State, Oregon, Cincinnati, Texas, Texas A&M, Michigan, Michigan State, Pitt and Oklahoma.
Edwards also made visits last year to Ohio State, Tennessee, Georgia, Michigan State, Oklahoma and Florida. He plans to make a return visit to USC at some point. This month he is scheduled to visit Georgia this weekend, Texas on the 21st and Auburn on the 28th.
Edwards said he is looking at August for making his commitment announcement.
