Mike Allen
DE Mike Allen (6-6 240) of Sugar Hill, GA is another of the heavily recruited prospects in the Peach State with upwards of 30 major offers.  Of those offers, the schools standing out the most to Allen right now are Georgia and Tennessee.  Plus, he’s also thinking hard about USC, Wake Forest, NC State and Georgia Tech.

Some of his other offers are Notre Dame, Missouri, Mississippi State, Florida State, Arkansas, Nebraska, Duke, Louisville, Syracuse, Kentucky, Southern Cal, Miami and Ole Miss.

Allen has visited all of the above mentioned schools.  He was at USC March 19th but says he’s not heard from recruiter Coleman Hutzler in a few weeks.

“Our communication is good whenever we talk, we have good conversations,” Allen said.    “I have to go back there to see more of the academic side of things before I can actually say if I really, really like them or not.  You can’t really base a school just off of football.”

Allen visited USC for a spring practice so he got the chance to see how the Gamecocks drill and run their practices.

“It was pretty familiar, it was kind of like the same drills we do in high school,” he said.  “I kind of liked what I saw.  As of right now I’d be a defensive end for them.  They talk about my length, size and speed.”

Last season Allen said he had about 64 tackles and 9 sacks.

He does not have any visits planned yet for the summer but he said he will return to USC.  He does not have a timetable for a decision at this point.
