DE Raiqwon O’Neal of Conway made his final two visits last week to Rutgers and Maryland and will now sit on his decision until August 16th when he plans to announce on WPDE-TV in Myrtle Beach. O’Neal, who visited USC for the prospect cookout in late July, said he does know his school though he will take the next couple of weeks to make sure he’s made the right decision.
O’Neal also has offers from NC State, Indiana, Georgia Tech, Illinois, Wake Forest, West Virginia, Mississippi State, Louisville, Kentucky, Penn State, Michigan and East Carolina. He has 30 offers in all. O’Neal said his decision came down to two key factors.
“Life after football and they have my major, graphic design,” O’Neal said.
Several coaches were in touch with O’Neal Tuesday, the first day official offers could be handed out. Those included USC coach Will Muschamp. His message was direct.
“We need you,” O’Neal said. He also heard from coaches from Rutgers, Maryland, Indiana, West Virginia, Louisville and Georgia State.
