The heated recruiting battle for TE Oscar Delp of Cumming, GA is entering the final stages. The last two Saturdays, Delp visited Clemson and Georgia respectively for games. This weekend he’ll take a break from recruiting as his family heads to a Florida beach with his school out for fall break.
All that’s left is a visit to USC October 2nd for the Troy game. Michigan has been the fourth school under consideration, but Delp said he won’t make a visit there before his commitment.
Delp was among the high school stars in attendance last Saturday night in Athens as the Bulldogs trounced USC. It was the second time he had been to Sanford Stadium for a game.
“It was good, a lot of fun. I enjoyed it,” Delp said. “My first time being there with full capacity, and it was awesome. I was blown away. The fans and the atmosphere and just how juiced up everyone was. They are still recruiting me like they have been from the beginning, and they just wanted me to enjoy it.”
Delp said he’s also in regular contact with USC and Clemson.
“I’m talking to them (USC) just as much as I was talking to them before, almost every week, every other day,” Delp said. “They are still recruiting me as hard as they can. Same with Clemson.”
Delp said he will announce his commitment decision not long after his visit to USC. He did not think it would be as soon as the following week, but most likely within the second week after that visit with the Gamecocks.
