Desert Island scenario: You make it to a desert island with 1 book and a solar-powered boom box (I know) with 1 CD.  Pick your book (trilogies/collections are ok for the sake of this discussion), pick your album!

You got to go with any book on how to survive on a desert island, right?  And then it would logically follow, any CD by Survivor like Eye of the Tiger.

LOLOL - no, assume you took a book for pleasure, not a survival guide. And if Survivor is your jam, strength to your arm, as my grandmother used to say.

Tomorrow my answer could be different, but today I will go with U2's "The Joshua Tree" and the complete Lord of the Rings boxed set.

I would choose James Herriot’s series of books. They have been my favorites since I was a teen, and have been my companions through some lonely periods of my life. As far as music, that is much tougher. I like things from a lot of different music styles, and have never latched on to one particular artist. Jimmy Buffett comes to mind, but that would be a bit redundant on an island.

Yeah, so you going to get every Pink Floyd album ever pressed and put it in a box? lol
Well in 2011, Pink Floyd Discovery Box set came out with all their studio albums.  I would bring that with me.  i need to figure out my book(s).  I will get back to this thread. :)

Books I would have to go with a really long series. Like Game of Thrones (provided I get the future books when they come out), or Lord of the Rings.

Music is a tough one. I like variety and everything will get old after you listen to it over and over and over again.

I agree Spur.  I have about 1500 CDs and 800 LPs.  Choosing 1 artist is tough, let alone 1 genre of music.  But the game is to choose.  I am still thinking.  :headache:
