been a hot June on the trail!
(here is the article link with audio of the full interview)Eleven new pledges have come in during the month, three of which remain private thru Tuesday night. One of those was expected to go public Tuesday night but that did not happen, but it could happen on Wednesday. Counting the public and private commitments, and adding two transfers who count with the class, the Gamecocks have 16 of their 25 spots filled for 2022.
His commitment accounts for the second Shane Beamer alert of Tuesday and gives the Gamecocks 12 new commitments in the class. Beamer also sent out another commitment alert Wednesday, so he has three silent commitments. The one from today plans to announce Saturday, but that’s unrelated to DT Nick James who had previously set Saturday at 2:30 for his announcement. The other two will go public in early July. And two transfers will count in the 2022 class meaning 17 of the 25 spots are claimed. (Article)
Amen.Considering our past couple seasons, Beamer and company are appealing to some really good talent. It is hard to convince the good players to come to a school that only won 2 games last year. Beamer is convincing them that change is coming and they can be a part of it. He is doing a darn good job of convincing me too.
They even developed while here during CWM era. The problem was that Muschamp could not make in-game adjustment and his coordinators did not believe in counter plays or pre-snap deception on either side of the ball. He got outcoached nearly every week and once teams figured out what we would try to do and what we could do, they adjusted while our coaches just shrugged.I could be in the minority here, but I never thought CWM and his staff had a problem with recruiting ... it was more about what happened to the players once they got here. Burch and Pickens, for example, were HUGE wins for us. That said, CSB seems to making inroads in exactly the way we hoped he would - he is genuine and sincere and that is bearing fruit.
