Orangeburg (S.C.) Orangeburg-Wilkinson four-star defensive lineman Albert Huggins 6'2" 279lbs has close to 20 offers to his credit, but the 6-foot-2, 275 pounder has only visited three schools so far.
Albert Huggins is one of the best overall players the Southeast has to offer in the class of 2015.
“I’ve been to Clemson, USC, and UNC so far,” Huggins said. “I’ve got to get out there and see more schools. I just talked to my parents about trying to get a plan together. I know I want to get to Auburn, Florida State, Florida and Georgia.”
South Carolina has made Huggins a priority and has his attention.
“When Jadeveon Clowney goes to a school and makes it his home, it gets my attention as a defensive lineman,” he said. “Why would I overlook that? The coaching staff is great. They could be your family. Coach (Everette) Sands and coach (Deke) Adams are both recruiting me hard.”
North Carolina is working hard to lure Huggins out of the Palmetto State.
“North Carolina treats me like family. I got to go up there and hang out in the game room and meet coach (Larry) Fedora. It was just a good time up there, man. We actually got to see a basketball game too.”
Two SEC schools also intrigue Huggins.
“I haven’t heard from Georgia since their defensive coaches left but I’m excited to visit them and Florida. I just want to see what those two places are all about. Coach (Brad) Lawing hit me up on Twitter today as a matter of fact.”
Huggins declined to name any favorites.
The versatile defensive lineman says he bench presses 385 pounds, squats 455 pounds, power cleans 255 pounds, and runs a 4.9 in the 40 yard dash.
