4 star DL Michael Hill of Pendleton 6'2" 315lbs has completed all of his spring and summer visits and is ready to trim his list. According to coach Paul Sutherland, Hill has been to all eight schools he's considering...Clemson, USC, Tennessee, Georgia Tech, Ohio State, Alabama, Florida and LSU. Next week Sutherland will meet with Hill and his father and they will reduce the list to 2-3 teams. Hill plans to get back to Clemson and USC this summer. Ohio State has been his favorite.

Michael Hill suppose to be on campus today visiting the Gamecocks. I hope the Gamecocks land this bigtime DT. Defense wins championships. GO GAMECOCKS!!!

Reasons why the Gamecocks are a great football program for Michael Hill:

*Great Education: Top Business program in the country (I think Michael Hill wants to major in Business)

*Opportunity to play for a coaching legend in Coach Spurrier

*Player Development: Making players better (Coach Brad Lawing)

*Opportunity to play instate (home) in front of family members and highschool friends/coaches

*Opportunity to play in the SEC, which is the best college football conference in the country

*Opportunity for early playing time...the best players play regardless whether freshman or senior

*Great Athletic Facilities

*Goal to win SEC Championships and National Championships every season (culture change)

*Opportunity to play in front of the Top Fan Base in the Country (Gamecocknation)!!!

Hill decides to head out of state

DL Michael Hill of Pendleton Wednesday committed to Ohio State according to his coach Paul Sutherland. Hill made his decision after visiting USC the end of last week. He was scheduled to visit Clemson Wednesday but decided instead to make the call to Urban Meyer and commit to the Buckeyes. Hill also considered Tennessee, Georgia Tech, Alabama, Florida and LSU. But Pendleton coach Paul Sutherland said Ohio State had been Hill's favorite for a long time. "It's the age of ESPN and he grew up with Ohio State being his favorite team to watch," Sutherland said. "No one worked harder than Shawn Elliott (USC) or Dan Brooks (Clemson). He went into the process with a favorite and stuck with it. The only factor was the distance, and once he got past that, he was ready to commit." Hill is the second highly rated player in the state to choose an out of state program. Earlier this year Goose Creek WR Tramel Terry committed to Georgia. link: http://www.goupstate.com/article/20120627/PSPORTS02/120629735/-1/PSPORTS
