After an impressive first season at North Stafford High School, Devyn Ford 5' 11" 175lbs has accumulated a strong list of offers that includes five schools from the SEC.

South Carolina, Auburn, Georgia, Kentucky and Tennessee have already offered the 2019 athlete from Stafford, Va., who rushed for 1,865 yards and 24 touchdowns as a freshman.

Ford and his teammate, 2018 OT Nana Asiedu, camped at South Carolina. Ford, who also played some safety last season, worked with running backs coach Bobby Bentley.

“He’s very precise and I like the way he coaches you up and keeps you in good spirit,” Ford said.

The 5-foot-11, 175-pound prospect also had a good encounter with coach Will Muschamp.

“He was just a good guy,” Ford said. “He really wants to build the relationship and make sure there’s no questions left unanswered.”

The camp received an impressive review, too.

“I liked the intensity. It reminded me of Alabama,” Ford said.

Clemson and North Carolina – two more schools that have offered – received camp visits last month.

With three years left before college, Ford is in no rush to make a decision, though he does have a lead group.

“Not in order,” he said, “But I would say Clemson, UNC, Georgia, Alabama, (Virginia Tech) and South Carolina, so far.”

He will consider a number of factors while he continues to navigate the recruiting process.

“Obviously, a school with a good reputation (and) a school that has the major I want to learn about,” Ford said, “Good football program and living space.”

As a freshman, he also had 424 receiving yards and three touchdowns

More and more players put us on their lists, but in the end we don't make the cut
