Eric Wolford to see Dylan Wonnum

November 30, 2017

The South Carolina recruiting efforts for the Class of 2018 continue on Thursday with an Atlanta area trip by offensive line coach Eric Wolford.

Wolford will conduct an in-home visit with 4-star Dylan Wonnum, the No. 9 offensive tackle in the Class of 2018, who attends Tucker (Ga.) High School.

Wonnum, the younger brother of South Carolina sophomore defensive end/outside linebacker D.J. Wonnum, visited Auburn last weekend for the Iron Bowl. He also visited Williams-Brice Stadium several times this season.

Tucker is home to several prospects, including 2018 4-star wide receiver Josh Vann, the top-rated prospect in South Carolina’s class.. On Wednesday morning, the Gamecocks sent out offer No. 1 to one of the school’s top underclassmen: 2020 cornerback Isaiah Dunson.

Several of South Carolina’s 2018 targets have seen Gamecock coaches this week, including 4-star defensive tackle Rick Sandidge (Concord, N.C.) and 4-star linebacker Channing Tindall (Columbia, S.C.). This past weekend, Sandidge visited South Carolina for the Clemson game. Tindall took an official visit to Auburn.

Coach Will Muschamp and defensive coordinator Travaris Robinson are scheduled to see 3-star defensive back Israel Mukuamu on Monday. The former Florida State commitment is set to take an official visit to Purdue this weekend.

Several 2018 prospects are expected to meet with South Carolina coaches in the not too distant future, if they haven’t already this week: 4-star cornerback Jaycee Horn (Alpharetta, Ga.), 4-star cornerback Asante Samuel Jr. (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) and 3-star defensive end Jarrett Jackson (West Palm Beach, Fla.). Samuel and Jackson are currently committed to Florida State and Louisville, respectively.
