Who goes to the Asheville, NC area enough to give a good account of some great steak/seafood/Italian restaurants to go to.  Planning up a trip up there soon and would like to dine more in Asheville, NC this time or at least one night.  Need help - got any????

Nobody but me has ever been to Asheville, NC????  Yancey, you have been everywhere at least once?  Where you be on this subject?

Been years since I have been to Asheville but I would take a tour of the local breweries (Burial and Wicked Weed come to mind), fwiw. Somebody there will certainly know where the better eating spots are.

Sorry for the non help.

I am sure that everything has changed since I lived in Asheville.  Sometimes though I would take a leisurely 2 hour drive down to Dilliard House for some good country cooking.  I would even take the long way home back to SC just to hit it up.  http://www.dillardhouse.com/

Ok, I'm in the Asheville area, and there really aren't a plethora of great steak houses here.  It's pretty lame when the best steak joint is a chain...Ruth Chris.  And Ruth Chris serves a good steak, but nothing local really stands out.  However, one of my favorite restaurants is 131 Main located in Biltmore Park shopping area just off of I-26 at exit 37 (Long Shoals Road).  They have a full menu, but I really like their baby back ribs.  Also get an order of their cornbread for an appetizer.  https://www.131-main.com/asheville/

Another possibility is The Red Stag Grill.  I have not been there, but my wife liked it.  It is located within the Grand Bohemian Hotel, in Biltmore Village (near the Biltmore House). https://www.kesslercollection.com/red-stag-grill/

Just north of Asheville, in Weaverville (Exit 21off of I-26) is a pretty cool place called Stoney Knob (Greek/Italian influence), but really good food.  https://stoneyknobcafe.com/sustenance/dinner.html

FC, you live in a beautiful area of our nation.  Besides where I now live, my two favorite cities are Charleston, SC and Asheville, NC & surrounding area - especially the Lake Lure area.  Checked out the Red Stag Grill on their website and it does look nice.  I went to the Ruth Chris Steakhouse about three years ago over by the Biltmore Estates Rd and they gave me and my wife a baked potato that was as big as a small football.  We had to send it back three times to get it properly cooked.  Their steak was good, but the bill that they gave me did not justify the steak that I had been served.  Thanks for your info as I will continue to check out some places.
