First 2019 South Carolina commitment already recruiting his teammate

July 28, 2017

Come to South Carolina

Ahdarrious Gee, the first commitment in South Carolina’s 2019 class, has started to recruit one of his teammates at Crisp County High School (Cordele, Ga.).

“I’ll probably just tell him, ‘Spurs Up,’” Gee said, when SEC Country asked about his recruiting pitch to 2019 cornerback Jammie Robinson.

“He’s told me that a couple of times,” Robinson said. “Like I said, right now, I’m just going to play the process out and I’m going to wait. I’m going to wait for a little bit.”

In the grand scheme of things, it won’t be too long before he’s ready to make a decision.

“I’m trying to make a decision during the season, sometime during the season I’m going to commit,” Robinson said. “If my mind tells me not to, I’m going to wait on it. I’m just going to go wherever my heart tells me to go.”

According to 247Sports, Robinson (5-f00t-11, 180 pounds) is ranked as the No. 34 athlete in the Class of 2019. Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Florida State, LSU, Michigan and Tennessee have offered.

Several factors will be considered as he looks through his list of options.

“First off, education. That’s first,” Robinson said. “Then, the love that they show me, how they recruit me. Then, if they get in touch with my family, talk to my mom.

“That’s going to play a huge part for me.”

His mom has already heard from South Carolina “Bucks” coach Mike Peterson, who serves as the Gamecocks area recruiter. Plus, it helps that Muschamp and defensive coordinator Travaris Robinson have also made the right kind of impression on him.

“It’s just everything. Whenever I go there, the coaches are going to take care of you. They’re going to make sure you’re straight, so whenever I talk to the coaches, they keep it real with me, like T-Rob, Mike P and Coach Muschamp,” Robinson said. “Whenever they talk to me, they tell me how it is. They keep it 100 with me. They tell me they aren’t going to tell me anything wrong, so I believe them when they always talk.”

In addition to his two trips to South Carolina, he’s also visited Alabama, Auburn and Georgia twice this summer.

Though no plans have been set, the 3-star prospect hopes to return to South Carolina this season for a night game.
