Hey y'all,

WVU fan/grad here. Recently moved to Charlotte and coming down for the game Saturday. Never been to a game at USC before, so what should I do? Any must-see's? Best places to eat/grab a drink beforehand? Any info on where to park, stadium tips (hows the view from the upper deck? Any "bad" seats?), etc. is also much appreciated.

Looking forward to taking in a game at WBS!

Thanks!

First of all welcome aboard. You will enjoy Saturday night especially if the Gamecocks can crank it up. Can get loud in the Cock-pit.  For food etc.. Hopefully some others here will be able to tell you more. GO COCKS!! Try our Grilling/Carolina Eats Forum might find some good eats there.

Thanks! Looking forward to it. Always liked y'all since WVU beat Clemson in the Orange Bowl. Shared a lot of good laughs with some Carolina fans around that one.

Let's see ...

Well, for places to tailgate, you can never go wrong with "Meet Me at the Rocket." The SC State Fairgrounds are adjacent to Willy B, and there is a huge rocket from the 1950s in the middle of it - finding a place anywhere near that will put you in the thick of things tailgatingwise.

As for eating and drinking before and after, it all starts in Five Points, the epicenter of USC eating and drinking culture. For eats, my personal favorite is Groucho's on Harden Street, and you can never go wrong with Andy's around the corner on Greene Street. When you are ready to wash the trail dust off of the back of your throat, walk across the street from Groucho's to Bar None, a nice little watering hole owned by my old girlfriend from college and her husband.

You could ask this question of 50 folks on here, and you'll get 50 different answers on where to tailgate, eat and drink - but there are a few to get started!

There is all The Vista on the other side of Columbia.  Plenty of good places there as well.  here is a website for The Vista.

The places I have been to in The Vista are:

Blue Marlin

Liberty Tap Room

Wild Wing Cafe

Enjoyed all the food at these places.
