South Carolina has five commitments in the newly updated ESPN300 that was released on Wednesday.
Defensive end pledge Arden Key of Lithonia, Ga., leads the way at No. 46. The 6-foot-6, 228-pound Key committed - for a second time - to the Gamecocks on June 3.
Also in the ESPN300 (all considered four-star prospects):
-- No. 173: Mark Fields, cornerback, Cornelius, NC
-- No. 178: Sherrod Pittman, linebacker, Jacksonville, Fla.
-- No. 194: Shameik Blackshear, defensive end, Bluffton
-- No. 241: Jalen Christian, wide receiver, Damascus, Md.
ESPN also considers USC receiver commitments Michael Bowman and D.J. Neal four-star prospects. New offensive line pledge Austin Clark also has four stars from the network.
There were seven USC signees in the final ESPN300 list for the Class of 2014.
