I concur. There is some talent and speed on that defense. I think we will struggle up front against them.
After watching the game against KY again, one thing was obvious. KY was trying to put the game on Hilinski's shoulders. They wanted to put a lot of heat on him and did show some crazy sets in the defensive back field. At one time they were trying to get him to bite on Cover 2s and deep safety cover and instead we went to running the ball. Once KY figured out what we were doing they went back to a regular set and tried to disguise what they were doing and that still did work with us running the ball.
Concerning the Jawja game, we are going to have to figure a way to run the ball on them also. With their Dline that will be a tall order. I just hope we don't give up on the run early in the game when Jawja stops us a few times. Even if we are only gaining 2 or 3 yards a run you have to keep them honest. Hilinski did play well in Mizzou for some reason, maybe hurt
But it also could have been due to his first game on the road. When he steps between the hedges come next Saturday he is going to walk into a situation like he has never imagined.
He will playing in one of the loudest hostile stadiums in the country and will be playing against one of the best defenses in the country. I feel for him but this is what he signed up for. We will see how big his sack really is and how well he plays under the most pressure possible. You can bet your dirty drawers that Jawja will bring the house early and if that doesn't work, they will play coverage. Going to be interesting to watch for sure.
