Several years ago USC recruited a quarterback out of Jefferson High School in Tampa by the name of Stephen Garcia. The Gamecocks are back at the same school this recruiting season in pursuit of DE J’Bril Glaze 6'3" 250lbs. The Gamecocks won the recruiting battle for Garcia and are in strong position for Glaze at this point.
“South Carolina basically is at the top of the list, tied at the top with Kentucky,” Glaze said. “I talk with coach Muschamp and the whole staff. They are pretty straight forward about how they would play me, similar to how they played (Jadeveon) Clowney, outside off the edge, and how they played Jonathan Bullard. That fits perfectly with my playing style. And they produce a lot of great athletes and develop players. And I really want to play in the SEC.”
Glaze has visited South Florida and this summer he wants to see USC, Kentucky, Mississippi State and Indiana. He’d like to make his decision this summer, if he can.
His offers include USC, Kentucky, Arizona, Indiana, Louisville, Mississippi State, Central Florida, Maryland, Kentucky, Iowa State, Virginia Tech, Tennessee and South Alabama.
Last season Glaze totaled 45 tackles with 5 sacks.
