Florida cornerback commitment Divaad Wilson visited South Carolina over the weekend for the 34-27 win over Vanderbilt.
The 4-star cornerback from Northwestern High School in Miami spent a lot of time with Miami area products Keir Thomas and Rashad Fenton, both of whom start for the Gamecocks defense.
“They played a good game and they are impact players,” Wilson said.
Wilson, who is the No. 25 cornerback prospect in the Class of 2018, said he could picture himself playing the position one day for the Gamecocks.
Up next is a November official visit to Georgia. He also plans to hit Florida, Louisville and Alabama.
A couple of weeks ago, South Carolina defensive coordinator/defensive backs coach Travaris Robinson stopped in Miami to check in on Wilson. That, according to Wilson, is when contact with the Gamecocks began to pick up.

Florida State cornerback commitment Asante Samuel Jr. also visited South Carolina for the Vanderbilt game.
The 4-star cornerback from St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., is friends with starting defensive back Chris Lammons.
“It was a great visit; everybody showed love,” Samuel told recruiting writer Phil Kornblut. “They did a good job showing me a good time. I’m still 100 percent [committed], but anything can happen until Signing Day.”
Samuel, who is ranked by Rivals as the No. 5 cornerback in the country, has no other official visits planned right now.
