Former Florida cornerback Jalen Tabor wants to see Jamyest Williams at South Carolina
Jan. 30, 2017
Jamyest Williams, South Carolina’s top commitment, is less than two days from making his final college commitment known on National Signing Day, and former Florida cornerback Jalen Tabor wants Williams to commit to Will Muschamp and defensive coordinator Travaris Robinson just as he did.
Tabor, who declared for the NFL Draft earlier in January, tweeted he wants to see Williams lace up at South Carolina.
Tabor, who could be a first-round pick, committed to Muschamp and Robinson when they were at Florida. Now, he wants to see Williams playing for Muschamp and Robinson in Columbia.
Williams reportedly will announce his final decision at 2:15 p.m. ET Wednesday. His choice is between South Carolina and Georgia.
A 5-foot-9, 170-pound cornerback, Williams took his official visit to South Carolina this weekend, the final opportunity to get on campus before signing day. Former South Carolina running back and Heisman Trophy winner George Rogers was involved in Williams’ visit, as the Gamecocks pulled out all the big cards to try and keep the Grayson (Ga.) standout in the fold.
Williams’ father, J.J. Williams, reportedly said his son is 50/50 between South Carolina and Georgia.
Williams committed to South Carolina on Aug. 27, but took official visits to Oklahoma and Georgia in December and January, respectively.
