Former South Carolina QB Connor Shaw was carted off the field in Saturday’s preseason game between the Chicago Bears and Kansas City Chiefs.
Shaw, who was fighting to win one of the Bears backup spots, seriously injured his left leg.
Before the injury, Shaw had completed 5 of 6 passes for 68 yards and a touchdown, a 16-yard strike to Cameron Martin.
Throughout the preseason, Shaw has been competing with Brian Hoyer for the No. 2 job behind Bears starter Jay Cutler. For his career, Shaw has completed 14 of 28 passes for 177 yards and an interception.
