Ahh! I remember it well. He was a force. We were still independent back then and played both Michigan and Southern Cal if I remember correctly. Many think that the national exposure was a big help in his winning. I hate that we lost to both Georgia and Clemson and lost the Gator Bowl to Pitt to finish 8-4 that year. I really liked seeing Big George on those "Heisman House" commercials. It's interesting how much things have changed. To win today your team almost always has to go undefeated and more often than not you have to be a quarterback.
