PLANTATION, Fla. - With National Signing Day less than 48 hours away, class of 2014 four-star cornerback Chris Lammons 5'9" 168lbs (Fort Lauderdale, Fla./Plantation) says his decision is down to the wire.

Lammons will choose between South Carolina and Wisconsin during a ceremony at Plantation High School Wednesday at 1 p.m.

"Nobody is going to know until signing day," Lammons said Monday afternoon. "I'm just going to hit up the coaches from Wisconsin and South Carolina today or tomorrow and see how I feel about both of them and then by tomorrow I guess I'll have my decision ready."

The former Florida commitment, who decommitted from the Gators last month. He's being recruited to South Carolina by defensive backs coach Grady Brown.

"Coach Grady Brown is a good coach," Lammons says of the reasons he likes the Gamecocks. "South Carolina, it's a good place. I can go in there and play early and I feel like I can just be successful there."

Lammons has also spoken with Gamecocks head coach Steve Spurrier multiple times.

"He's a nice coach, a winning coach," Lammons said. "He has a good attitude. I like him."

The 5-foot-9.5, 170-pound prospect is being recruited to Wisconsin by wide receivers coach Chris Beaty.

"Coach Beaty, (head) coach (Gary) Andersen and (cornerbacks) coach (Ben) Strickland are also good coaches," Lammons said of Wisconsin. "It's like a college town. Fans go crazy, the facilities and they've got a world-wide education program -- if you get a degree there you'll do great world-wide. It's top notch and their football team is pretty good."

Lammons also has a connection to Wisconsin in that he's friends with former teammate and current Wisconsin starting cornerback Sojourn Shelton.

"He was just telling me it's a good place," DB Chris Lammons said. "The coaches are going to take care of you. You're not going to want for anything. You're going to have fun but at the same time it's real serious, about the school work."

The recruiting industry's No. 205 overall prospect also spoke to coaches from each staff yesterday with the first conversation coming with Wisconsin.

"He was just telling me that they really need me," Lammons said of the conversation. "There are a lot of places that want me, but they need me."

He then spoke to members of the South Carolina staff.

"We were just talking about the Super Bowl. (Brown) wasn't talking to me much [about recruiting] that much. He put me on the phone with Coach Spurrier and Coach Ward because they were around him. They were (asking) if I was going to come there, and I was like, 'I'm down to the last wire.'"

Says he hasn't told any family members or other prospects where he's going at this time. He'll sit down with coaches and family members tomorrow to come to a final conclusion.

"Just the ability to feel comfortable there," Lammons says is the biggest factor in his decision. "Both places I'll play early. There's no wrong choice with either one."

He is aware that we beat Wisconsin, isn't he?

Seems like his choice should be clear if that' truly is his final 2.
