Hollywood (Fla.) Flanagan four-star linebacker Devin Bush Jr. 6'0" 220lbs came out to the The Opening’s regional event with one goal in mind.

“I’m here to prove that I’m the best linebacker in South Florida and in the state,” Bush Jr. told Nole247 before the camp started.

He backed up his talk by earning an invite to The Opening. Of the 250 prospects in attendance, Bush Jr. was one of four that received an invite. He was the only linebacker at the camp to be invited.

Devin Bush Sr. was a star at Florida State. He was the starting safety on FSU’s 1993 National Championship team and a first round draft pick by the Atlanta Falcons in 1995. Will this family tie affect the younger Bush’s decision?

“I’m going to go through the same (recruiting) process that everyone else is going through. I’m going to pick the best school for me off of what fits me best,” he said.

There are a handful of teams that standout right now.

“Auburn, Georgia, Florida State, Michigan and South Carolina. No leader right now, its just kind of what I’m looking at and who I’m talking to the most right now.”

The only visit Bush Jr. has set right now is to Georgia on March 21st. Bush also plans to make it to FSU and Auburn in the spring.

“I have a great relationship with coach (Mike) Ekeler at Georgia. We have the same personality on and off the field. We joke a lot and have fun, but we’re serious when it’s time to be serious. Kind of the same personality.”

Bush Jr. says he’s in no rush to make a decision and is focused more on improving his game than what school he’ll attend.

“I’m working on getting my weight up and getting stronger. I weighed in at 6-foot, 220 today,” Bush Jr. added. “I like being physical, imposing your will on people and just knocking them out and having fun doing it.”

Bush Jr. says he’ll narrow his list to a top 6 or 8 after spring football ends. He plans to take all five of his official visits and announce his decision at an all-star game.
