PF Desmond Ringer (6-9 260) of McDonough, GA committed to USC Tuesday choosing the Gamecocks over Vanderbilt, Auburn and Stanford. A source close to the USC program says Ringer is a good fit for what Frank Martin wants to do on offense. "(Ringer) has great hands and can score the post," said the source. "He can also knock down the mid-range jumper which is important when (USC) runs the high-low." The source says that Ringer is also strong academically and a good character individual. Ringer is the first commitment for the 2013 class.
