FSU commitment DB Israel Mukuamu recaps South Carolina official visit

Florida State commitment Israel Mukuamu has at least two more official visits to take before he reaches a final decision.
The 6-foot-4, 190-pound prospect has already taken official visits to Indiana and South Carolina, where he was this past weekend for the Arkansas game.
“It went pretty well,” he said of the visit with the Gamecocks. “I think it was very much needed and very helpful, as far as me getting an in-depth visit, getting my family, my parents around the coaches, seeing the campus and the people.”
Mukuamu, who attended Berkeley High School in Moncks Corner, S.C., before transferring to Parkway High School in Bossier City, La., was impressed with what he saw in Columbia.
“The game stood out to me and how the defense played,” he said. “Also, when I talked to coach Muschamp and coach [Travaris] Robinson about how they want to use me and where I would fit in the defense.”
The Gamecocks defensive brain trust views Mukuamu as a cornerback, though he’s rated by the 247Sports composite as the No. 43 safety in the Class of 2018.
“They told me I have a great chance of getting developed and a great chance of getting a lot of playing time, actually starting, but that will all depend on how I do and how I perform,” Mukuamu said. “They told me they’d definitely develop me. If I’m ready to, ready to play as soon as I get there, then I’ll play.”
