Future Gamecocks set to play in All-America games
December 29, 2017
Several South Carolina signees are set to report to Orlando, San Antonio and New Orleans in the coming days for the top All-America games.
Three are headed to Disney World for the Under Armour All-America Game. One will be in San Antonio for the U.S. Army All-American Bowl and three are destined for the Offense-Defense All-American Bowl.
Under Armour
Four-star cornerback Jaycee Horn (Alpharetta, Ga.) will join 3-star linebacker Rosendo Louis (Deerfield Beach, Fla.) and 3-star center Hank Manos (Chapin, S.C.) for this game, though Louis and Manos will play on a separate team.
Horn will be on the same squad as 4-star offensive tackle Dylan Wonnum (Tucker, Ga.). Wonnum, who remains unsigned, continues to consider South Carolina, Auburn and LSU, among others.
Louis and Manos, both of whom are among the Gamecocks signees set to enroll in January, are going to team up with 4-star outside linebacker Quay Walker, an Alabama commitment from Crisp County High School (Cordele, Ga.), which is home to 2019 South Carolina linebacker commitment Ahdarrious Gee.
A handful of former South Carolina targets are also playing in the Under Armour game, including 5-star defensive end KJ Henry (Clemson signee) and 4-star wide receiver Matthew Hill (Auburn commitment).
Army
Four-star wide receiver Josh Vann, Wonnum’s teammate at Tucker High School, will be the lone South Carolina signee in San Antonio for the U.S. Army All-American Bowl.
Vann will be greatly outnumbered on the East team. Defensive tackle Josh Belk, wide receiver Derion Kendrick, kicker BT Potter and defensive end Xavier Thomas, all of whom were recruited by South Carolina, have signed with Clemson.
Other former South Carolina targets include 5-star wide receiver Jordyn Adams (North Carolina) and 4-star linebacker Channing Tindall (Georgia), both of whom have signed with their respective schools. Four-star linebacker Dax Hollifield remains uncommitted, but South Carolina is no longer in play.
Offense-Defense
Three more signees were selected to play in the Offense-Defense All-American Bowl: 4-star quarterback Dakereon Joyner, 3-star offensive tackle Maxwell Iyama and 3-star safety Israel Mukuamu.
All three of the signees are set to report to South Carolina next month.
