Future South Carolina QB Dakereon Joyner squats 500 pounds
July 19, 2017
Dakereon Joyner has been committed to South Carolina for just over a month. On Wednesday, the 4-star quarterback showed off his strength on Twitter.
The 2018 prospect from Fort Dorchester (North Charleston, S.C.) High School posted some video evidence.
Two weeks ago, Joyner shared a 410-pound squat video, which is still pretty darn impressive for a quarterback who’s a shade under 6-foot-1 and weighs 202 pounds.
Earlier this spring at The Opening in Charlotte, Joyner ran 4.64 in the 40-yard-dash. He was also clocked at 4.14 in the shuttle. His vertical jump was 34.9 inches.
The future Gamecock isn’t just a workout warrior. He can play, too.
As a junior, Joyner passed for 3,642 yards and 44 touchdowns. He also rushed for 1,089 yards and 12 scores.
As a sophomore, he led Fort Dorchester to a state championship, passing for 3,202 yards and 33 touchdowns, to go along with 1,058 yards rushing and 19 scores.
