South Carolina Gamecocks vs. Kentucky Wildcats Prediction

The Gamecocks are struggling of late, dropping their last two games by double digits. They’ve got to figure out a way to put the ball in the basket if they hope to have a chance tonight.

Kentucky is rolling, using a four-game winning streak to climb into the top five in the latest polls. The Wildcats play best when their defense is stingy, and that’s been the case over this recent streak. They’ve been able to lock down the likes of Kansas, Alabama, and Mississippi State, each of which boasts much more productive offenses than the Gamecocks.

South Carolina has also been very up and down against the Wildcats. In their two latest wins over Kentucky, the Gamecocks have kept the game in reach to escape with close victories. The last two losses, though, have each been 28-point blowouts. That includes last year’s 92-64 loss in the Gamecocks’ regular-season finale.

The Wildcats should roll to another win.

USC starters vs. Kentucky: G Devin Carter, G James Reese, G Erik Stevenson, F Keyshawn Bryant, C Wildens Leveque

You know what pisses me off about tonight's game? That kind of effort, intensity and focus EVERY game has us with at least 2 more wins. Coastal and Princeton. Now watch the next game, we'll be as flat as a pancake and lose big time.

Frank’s postgame comments about his teams identity etc. Seems to me they are the same team we;ve seen all year. Glances of good play interrupted by longer periods of bad play, turnovers, terrible shotes etc. The talent is clearly not there. He said the next 4 weeks will tell him a lot about his team. Uhm what did the entire first part of the season tell you. It is clearly over. I wish him well on future endeavors. He has helped turn some young men into better men and I hope he gets a position somewhere where he can make a difference in more young men’s lives.

We're not the only SEC team struggling to find wins right now and there are 7 games remaining on the schedule.

Frank's teams are weird and this is the part of the season when the tend to improve if they are actually going to do it. Stay disciplined, play for a middle seed and hope for two wins in the SECT.

We can beat the teams in the middle of the pack Murderer's Row. I still think this is a good team based on how I saw them play early in the season.

Let the season play out and see what happens.

@kingofnerf I like the positive nature of your outlook. Reality says that even if we ONLY lose to Ms. State and Auburn, we still finish at 9-9 in conference. I don't like the matchup against LSU, despite the fact that they've not been playing very well as of late. I'm also not a fan of the game at Bama - they're currently 10-2 at home.

All I will say is this... we've got some tough work ahead of us to be able to dig ourselves out of a pretty huge hole. I want the best for the guys... I truly do. But I have a strong suspicion that Frank's days as HC of the Gamecocks are fast coming to an end.

I bet Vandy wishes they had Kevin Stallings back right now.

Most folks wouldn't have guessed Bryce Drew would have rolled snake eyes there, either.

Is Mike White done at UF? Who knows.
