March 01, 2018

According to the latest update from the 247Sports composite, the 2019 South Carolina recruiting class still has two 4-star commitments.

Offensive tackle Mark Fox received the bump in rating, joining wide receiver Jamario Holley as a 4-star in the Gamecocks haul. Both attend a Northwestern High School, Fox’s is in Miami. Holley, of course, goes to the school in Rock Hill, S.C.

Nationally, Holley is ranked as the No. 264 overall prospect, followed by Fox at No. 357.

Defensive end Rodricus Fitten was previously rated as a 4-star, but dropped into the range of a high 3-star. The Atlanta-Washington prospect is now ranked as the No. 368 prospect in the country.

South Carolina’s class is ranked as the No. 10 group in the country. Among teams from the SEC, the Gamecocks are sixth.

Vincent Murphy, who was classified as a guard when he committed, now checks in as the No. 3 center in the country. Murphy, a 3-star, attends St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

Three-star defensive end Devontae Davis (Georgia Military College) is ranked as the No. 8 junior college prospect in the country. Three-star offensive tackle Jaylen Nichols (Charlotte, N.C.) is the lowest-rated member of the Gamecocks 2019 commitment class.
