Middletown quarterback Braden Davis, St. Joseph’s Prep Keenan Nelson, Southlake Carroll’s Landon Samson and Miami Central’s Anthony Rose’s teams advanced in postseason play, with three of those set to play for state titles.
Safety Anthony Rose and his Miami Central team defeated Baker County 54-21 in the Florida Class 5A playoffs on Friday. Miami Central will play Merritt Island for the state championship on Dec. 17. Rose hasn’t played since Oct. 28.
Middletown quarterback Braden Davis, threw two touchdown passes in helping Middletown to a 33-15 win in the Delaware Class 3A playoffs. Middletown will play for a state championship next Saturday (Dec. 11) against Smyrna at 3:30 p.m at the University of Delaware. Davis finished 17-of-26 passing for 164 yards in the game.
St. Joseph’s Prep DB Keenan Nelson had an interception as St. Joseph’s Prep defeated Garnet Valley 49-13 in the Pennsylvania Class 6A playoffs. St. Joseph’s will play Mt. Lebanon for the state championship at 6 p.m. on Dec. 11 in Hershey Park. St. Joseph’s is going for its fourth straight championship.
