Braden Davis and Keenan Nelson will be teammates on the South Carolina football team in a few months. But on Friday night, they will be on opposing sides in a nationally televised game. Davis and his Middletown (Del.) squad will host Nelson and St. Joseph’s Prep (Pa.) at 5 p.m. on ESPNU. The matchup is one of MaxPreps’ 10 high school football games to watch this week. “GAMECOCK NATION!!!! Watch me and @BradenDavis_5 compete against each other this Friday @5pm on ESPNU. #spursup,” Nelson posted Thursday on Twitter.

The four-star prospects are the two highest-ranked recruits for coach Shane Beamer so far in the Gamecocks’ Class of 2022 by 247Sports Composite rankings. Davis, a quarterback, is the 18th-ranked QB prospect in the country and top prospect from the state of Delaware. Nelson is the 16th-best safety in the country and seventh-ranked prospect coming out of Pennsylvania.

I know it's HS but Davis ran into a wall.  Passes off, very little running, fumble in the 3rd when he did.  Who knows what we have here if he sticks.  Good height but he needs weight and muscle.  Was good to see a commit in action though.
