Hmmm.....

We all know the early games were against teams that aren't very good, but perhaps they are much more bad than even we realized. Or for some reason, perhaps the team is deciding to take this time of the season to go into a funk. But right now, our team is not playing well, at all.......

...and just as I posted that, the Gamecocks reel off 3 straight field goals including a 3-ptr by Couisnard, plus hit 3 free throws. A missed jumper by Lawson at the buzzer broke the mini-run, but the Gamecocks go into the half leading Gardner-Webb 32-29. Another tight game.....

Keep in mind that Gardner Webb came into the game tonight 0-4 with an RPI outside of the top 200. They lost to Wichita State 74-52 in their last game: we go on the road to play Wichita State next after this game.....

Game tied at 65-65 with 2:32 to play........we're basically just fouling them to the free throw line. They may end up pulling away based on nothing but shooting free throws.....

Gamecocks pull out a tight win over Gardner-Webb 74-69 to improve to 4-1 on the season. Five Gamecocks scored dbl-digits: Lawson and Couisnard scored 16 pts apiece, Kotsar scored 11 pts, and both Frink and Bolden add 10 pts each.....

This is a great win for us because the guys were cool under pressure the last 3 minutes.

McCreary is going to be an MVP for us.
